About
Happy Healing LLC
My Mission:
Hey sis, welcome.
If you’ve found your way here, that means you’re probably the one who holds everyone down. The high-achiever. The go-to. The strong friend. The cycle breaker. The woman who’s constantly doing the most, trying to be the best, and silently wondering… when is it my turn to be held?
This space is for you.
Whether you’re a Black woman navigating motherhood, a helping professional pouring into everyone but yourself, or just someone trying to keep your shit together while healing from stuff nobody even knows you’re carrying—
I see you.
This is a real space. A safe space. A community where we keep it honest, where we hold space for the whole you—not just the version that looks like she has it all figured out.
I believe in the power of sisterhood, in unlearning perfection, in healing out loud, and in laughing through the chaos. You don’t have to choose between being soft and strong, between being tired and showing up—you just have to be you.
And you don’t have to do that alone anymore.
Welcome home.

About
Ashley McKinney M.Ed., LPC
Hey, friend.
Let me tell you a little bit about me.
I'm Ashley McKinney—a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Kansas, and more than anything, I’m passionate about walking with high-achieving Black women, mothers, and helping professionals as they figure out what healing looks like for them.
I specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma-informed care, and personal growth—but the truth is,
I specialize in real life.
The kind that doesn’t always make it to social media. The kind that feels heavy, unspoken, and overwhelming.
My approach? It’s honest. It’s human. It’s full of grace, compassion, and a little tough love when needed. This is a space where you get to show up as you are—no mask, no code-switching, no pressure to perform. Just the real you, and that’s more than enough.

I got my bachelor’s from the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk, always) and my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wichita State. I’ve worked across private practice, non-profits, and community mental health over the last seven years—and in every space, I’ve seen the same truth show up:
Our stories matter.
They deserve to be heard, honored, unpacked, and healed.

I’m also a therapist in therapy. Yep, I sit on the couch too.
I believe in practicing what I preach, and I’m all about creating non-conventional, culturally relevant treatment that actually feels like it was made for us—because it was.
Everything I offer is rooted in real experience, lived wisdom, and the deep belief that healing gets to look like you.
So if you’re tired of carrying it all... if you’re ready to start unpacking without judgment... if you’re looking for a safe space to just be while still growing—you're in the right place.
I’m honored to walk alongside you. We’re in this together.
I love you. We got this.
Happy Healing.
